My Android Friends

Definitivamente llegó el Otoño :(. Ayer, tarde de viernes gris, fría y lluviosa en Madrid, todo apuntaba a que iba a ser una tarde tranquila de sofá y series, pero no, tuve una grata sorpresa ... tengo visita mirad ...

-- Definitely Fall arrived :(. Yesterday, a grey, cold and rainy Friday evening in Madrid, everything pointed it would be a quiet evening lying in the sofa, watching series, but finally, ... I had a pleasant visit...

¿Conocéis a éstos personajes tan raros y graciosos? ¿No le habéis sacado ningún parecido a nada o nadie?

-- Do you know these weird and funny characters? What do they look like?

No me lo puedo creer ... y que hay de ese "muñequito verdoso" que gestiona la mayoría de los teléfonos inteligentes (smartphones) de hoy en día.

-- I can not believe it ... and what about the "green friend" that handles most of the smart phones (smartphones) today.

Para los que no lo sepan, Android es un sistema operativo móvil basado en Linux, que junto con aplicaciones middleware está enfocado para ser utilizado en dispositivos móviles como teléfonos inteligentes, tabletas, Google TV y otros dispositivos.

-- For those who do not know, Android is a mobile operating system based on Linux, together with applications, middleware is aimed to be used in mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, Google TV and other devices.

Tiene una gran comunidad de desarrolladores escribiendo aplicaciones para extender la funcionalidad de los dispositivos. A la fecha, se han sobrepasado las 600.000 aplicaciones (de las cuales, 2/3 son gratuitas) disponibles para la tienda de aplicaciones oficial de Android:Google Play.

Os preguntaréis lógicamente: ¿Y ésta chica por qué tiene unos amigos tan raros?

Bueno, el caso es que soy INGENIERA INFORMÁTICA, y resulta que ésta semana me he puesto a aprender a programar aplicaciones para móviles con ANDROID. Ya os iré contando mis avances ... y si saco algo en claro, ya os iré enseñando mis aplicaciones. :D

-- Well, the fact is that I am COMPUTER ENGINEER, and it turns out that this week I have started to learn how to develop applications for Android phones. 
I'll tell how is going my progress with Android  ... and if I get something straight, and I will be showing my applications. :D

Jarama Vintage Festival

¿Habéis estado éste fin de semana en el "Jarama Vintage Festival"? Yo sí, y me lo he pasado genial, ahora os cuento ...

-- Have you been in the "Jarama Vintage Festival" this weekend? I do, and I've had great time, I will show you now...

No sé si el nombre ya os da una idea de la temática del festival, os explico un poco. El "Jarama" es el circuito que hay en Madrid desde 1967, y algo "Vintage" puede referirse a objetos o accesorios de calidad que presentan cierta edad, los cuales sin embargo no pueden aún catalogarse como antigüedades.

-- I do not know if the name gives you an idea of the festival theme, lets see.   The "Jarama" is a circuit located in Madrid since 1967 ; and "vintage" can refer to objects or accessories with quality that present certain age, which however can not yet be classified as antiques.

Si juntamos estos dos términos con el de festival, el resultado es: coches, motos, carreras, grandes mitos del motociclísmo, ropa, juguetes, ... y mucha gente, en un ambiente muy "vintage".

-- If we put these two terms together and we add "festival", the result is: cars, bikes, racing, great myths of motorcycling, clothing, toys, ... and a lot of people, in a very "vintage atmosphere".

¿Cómo surgió esto de ir al "Jarama Vintage Festival"? Pues es que todavía no os había contado que tengo un novio muy motero y claro ... me tocó ir. Pero la verdad que disfruté muchísimo, superó todas mis expectativas, y el año que viene vuelvo.

-- Why did I go to Jarama Vintage Festival? Well, I had not yet told you that I have a boyfriend who loves bikes and motorcycling and of course ... I decided to go. 
But the truth is that I thoroughly enjoyed, it exceeded all my expectations, and I am sure I am coming back next year.

Un poquito de shopping ...

-- A little shopping ...

A parte de toda la variedad en coches y motos, como ya habéis podido ver, había también carpas con ropa, bolsos, juguetes, etc. todo muy "vintage" para hacer un poco de "shopping".

-- Besides a  full range of cars and motorcycles, as you can see, there were also tents with clothes, bags, toys, etc.. all very "vintage" to do a little "shopping".

Me imagino que os ha encantado todo como a mí, desde los bolsos en forma de radio antigua, hasta los playmobil, pasando por las figuritas de COBI nuestra entrañable mascota de los JJOO 1992 en Barcelona.

Pero en especial a mi me encantó el conjuntito motero de la última foto, la verdad es que era tamaño Blythe todo excepto el casco. Una pena que todo lo "vintage" sea tan caro ... 70€. Me quedé con las ganas. :(

-- I guess you've loved everything, from handbags, shaped antique radio, to Playmobil figurines through COBI, our beloved mascot of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. 

But I loved especially the "biker clothes" of last picture. It was all Blythe size except the helmet. It is a pity that all "vintage" objects are so expensive ... € 70. I was really disappointed. : (

Un poquito de espectáculo ...

--A little show ...

Para amenizar el festival también había representaciones. Estaban las chicas del 1, 2, 3; una pareja de guardias civiles, un autobús de hace años recorría las calles del recinto, una ambulancia de la cruz roja, ... muy divertido todo.

-- To liven up the festival we also had some representations. The girls of the "1, 2, 3" TV program, a couple of policemen, a vintage Madrid bus, a Red Cross ambulance, ... all fun.

Por último y por una vez, quiero mi momento de protagonismo, me lo merezco, ya que Blethy y Stephy me los quitan casi todos. 

-- Finally, and for once I want my moment of prominence, I deserve it, because Blethy and Stephy always take all your attention.

Bye Bye Summer!!!

Hoy como tod@s sabéis es el último día del verano. :( . Quería por tanto el día de hoy dedicar mi post al FIN DEL VERANO que nos deja.

-- Today as everyone know is the last day of summer. : (. So I wanted to dedicate my post to this event.

No se a vosotr@s pero a mí el verano junto con la primavera, son las estaciones que más me gustan. El VERANO nos recuerda a: sol, calor, vacaciones, piscina, playa, amigos, excursiones, familia, fiesta del pueblo, helados, ... ¡me encanta! Me entra mucha nostalgia solo de pensar que ya se acaba. Pero bueno, solo nos queda pensar que ya queda menos para el próximo verano. Así que, ¡ánimo!

-- For me summer and spring are my favourite seasons, what about you? Summer reminds me: sun, heat, pool, beach, friends, excursions, family, village feast, ice cream, ...I love it! I get very nostalgic just thinking that it's over. 

But hey, we can only think that we have less day left to enjoy next summer. So, cheer  up!

Welcome to my new friend: Stephy

Hoy estamos supercontentas, tenemos visita y ¡se queda! Hemos adoptado una nueva Blythe, su nombre es Stephy y es PELIROSA.

-- Today we really happy, ¡we have a permanent visitor! We adopted a new Blythe, her name is Stephy and she is pink-haired.

Es una Blythe Simply Guava preciosa, en cuanto vi este modelo de Blythe, quería tener una en mis manos. Es que no os lo he dicho aún, pero soy rosa-adicta ( o como se diga :D)

No me parecía justo que Blethy estuviera sola, necesitaba una compañera de aventuras.

DIY: Painting shoes - Fuchsia

Estaba deseando ya publicar algun DIY. Todo lo que sea customizar ropa, zapatos, hacerme complementos con abalorios, broches, etc. ¡La verdad es que me encantan! 

-- I was hoping to post some DIY.  I love customization: clothes, shoes, accesorisess, jewelery, etc..I loving it!

Uno de mis últimos DIY ha sido customizar unos zapatos, mejor dicho éstos zapatos:

-- One of my last DIY has been customizing this pair of shoes:

La historia de estos zapatos es que tenía una boda hace un par de meses (ya voy por 3) y ya tenía unos zapatos negros clásicos de éstos que pegan con todo, preciosos, de piel, pero con los que yo calculaba que iba a aguantar aproximadamente 2 horas con ellos puestos. Los típicos zapatos que comulgan con el refrán de "para presumir hay que sufrir".

-- I bougth these shoes for a wedding I had two months ago. I already had some classic black shoes but which I estimated could wear them for about 2 hours. Too high for me. 

Por casualidad justo la semana de la boda, me encontré estos en una zapatería, solo por 19€, y comodísimos.  La verdad que sólo me convencía el verde, porque los complementos los llevaba verdes y el vestido fucsia, asique el beige del tacón no me convencía mucho.

-- By chance just the week of the wedding, I found these shoes in a shoeshop, only 19 €, and very comfy. The fact is that I was only convinced about the green colour, because the complements were also on green and the dress was pink. I didn´t like it beige heel.

El caso es que pensando y pensando, me acordé que tenía una especie de tinte-betún de unos zapatos mustang rosas fucsias de los de "chúpame la punta" de hace unas temporadas y pensé ... ¿y por qué no los pinto? Bueno pues dicho y hecho me puse a ello. Éste fué el proceso:

-- Anyway, thinking and thinking, I remembered I had a kind of dye-bitumen fuchsia and I thought ... why not paint them? Well, said and done, I started my painting work. This was the process:

La verdad que el tinte cubrió muy bien y secó muy rápido. Sólo tuve que darle dos capas.

-- The fact that the dye covered really well and dried very quickly.

 

¿Qué os parecen? Pueden parecer un poco llamativos, pero a mi el contraste el verde con el fucsia me encanta.

-- What do you think? A little flashy maybe, but I love the contrast in green and fuchsia.

La verdad que causaron furor en la boda, le encantaron a todo el mundo. Ánda que si les llego a decir que los he pintado yo ... 

-- Everyone loved them at the wedding. Goodness, I didn´t said anyone I painted them ... ;D What they would have thought?

Vuelta al cole

Hoy es día de vuelta al cole, por lo menos aquí en la Comunidad de Madrid.

** Today we are back to school, at least here in the Community of Madrid (Spain).

¡Qué recuerdos! Todavía recuerdo ese día de sentimientos contrapuestos, felices por ver a nuestros compañeros después de todo el verano pero un poco melancólicos por que se terminan las vacaciones y empieza la rutina. Aquellos maravillosos años ...

**I still remember that day of mixed feelings, happy to see our friends after summer but a little melancholy because is the end of our summer holidays and the beggining of the routine. Wonder Years ...

Aunque ya hace años que no vamos al cole, somos muy conscientes de que la 
educación y todo lo que conlleva ha cambiado muchísimo.

A mí todavía me gusta en estas fechas acercarme por las librerías y secciones de papelería de las grandes superficies para echar un vistazo a todo el material (cuadernos, carpetas, bolígrafos, agendas, etc), la verdad que tienen cosas muy bonitas, pero eso sí, hay que llevar bien preparada la cartera, ¡vaya precios!

** A I still like to go to the bookshops and stationery sections of supermarkets to take a look at all the material (notebooks, folders, pens, calendars, etc.), the truth is that things are very nice, but you need to have enough money to take over, prices are really high.

Estas libretas son preciosas, me imagino que os sonarán. En realidad lo que vale son las cubiertas que son en relieve y haciendo unos diseños muy bonitos y coloridos, pero los precios dan susto.

** These notebooks are beautiful, I guess you know it. The best part are the covers that are embossed and with very beautiful and colorful designs, but prices are scary :S.

Me encantan los rotuladores, acuarelas y pinturas de colores.

Hay accesorios de todo tipo ... antes con unos cuantos lápices y bolígrafos nos arreglábamos.

El diario de Bridget Jones

Hoy no puedo menos que dedicarle este post a Bridget Jones, esa rubita solterona con tanto encanto. Inspiradora y colaboradora de éste blog, aunque ella no lo sepa. :P

--Today I can only dedicate this post to Bridget Jones, this blonde maid with so much charm. My inspiration and contributor of this blog, although she doesn´t know. :P

Sobre todo su primera película es muy conocida, El diario de Bridget Jones. Es una película británica de 2001 dirigida por Sharon Maguire. Guión de Andrew Davies y Helen Fielding basado en la novela homónima de la propia Fielding. Fue protagonizada por Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth y Hugh Grant.

**Especially his first film is well known, Bridget Jones's Diary. It is a British film directed by Sharon Maguire 2001. Screenplay by Andrew Davies and Helen Fielding based on the novel by Fielding itself. He was starring Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

"The edge of reason" es la segunda película de Bridget Jones, la película ya la he visto y aproveché un mercadillo de segunda mano de ayuda a un refugio de animales, en La Linea de la Concepción (Cádiz) para comprar éste libro ¡por solo 1€! Por supuesto me lo tenía que comprar. Ya os contaré cuando lo termine.

-- "The Edge of Reason", the second film of Bridget Jones. I've already watched it and took the oportunity in a street market in La Linea de la Concepción (Cádiz) to get this book for only 1 €! Of course I had to buy it. I'll tell you when I finish.
